Bermudian insurer and reinsurer Axis Capital has reported a third-quarter net loss of $96m, compared with a net loss of $249m in the third quarter of last year.

Bermudian insurer and reinsurer Axis Capital has reported a third-quarter net loss of $96m, compared with a net loss of $249m in the third quarter of last year.
Net income for the first nine months was $179m, down from $220m in the same period last year.
